Hi, my name is Rico.
Originally from Germany, I came to Australia for a holiday in the early '90s and never left. It is easy to fall in love with Australia!
My professional career was predominantly in hospitality, working in the industry since the mid-'80s. In Sydney, I managed, opened and owned several restaurants around the CBD, Darlinghurst and Surry Hills.
During COVID, I left hospitality and began working as a commercial driver and realised I enjoy driving and want others to learn how to drive safely.
Recently, I have been teaching my son, his friends and many others how to drive, which is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy the challenge, they’re all so different in their driving style, comprehension and confidence.
I adapt my techniques to suit each student to exert the most productivity in their lesson. I aim to make every learner a better and safer driver for themselves and everyone else.
I like the ability to influence the perception of what students think are safe practices on the road, teach and correct. Then, watch how they accomplish new skills and see their faces of self pride and achievement.
